This week we feature another episode of The Shadow with Orson Welles as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow.  This episode is titled The Firebug, and first aired June 19, 1938.

OW31: The Glass Key

This week we have another offering from The Campbell Playhouse. We’ll hear The Glass Key, taken from a novel by Dashiell Hammett who also created the Sam Spade and Thin Man characters. The novel, said to be one of Hammett’s favorites, was first published in 1931. Our version was first aired March 10, 1939.

The Mercury Summer Theater would be the last appearance on radio of the Mercury Theater. This series consisted of 15 half hour shows, from those we’ll hear The Apple Tree from September 6, 1946.
